A Surgical Simulation Module on Pediatric Femoral Osteotomies for Orthopaedic Surgery Residents
Main Article Content
Abstract
Surgical simulation has the potential to enhance orthopaedic resident education. In this paper and associated video, we describe a module we developed and use to teach trainees how to perform pediatric proximal femoral osteotomies. Two module-specific evaluation tools, an Objective Structured Assessment of Technical Skills (OSATS) Checklist and A Global Rating Scale of Performance, are included. Detailed instructions for the creation of the lower extremity model are also provided.
