The Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America: Where Are We Now?
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) is excited to celebrate 50 years of the subspecialty of pediatric orthopaedic surgery in North America. In 1996, Dr. Hugh Watts, POSNA historian from 1992-1999, wrote a very detailed and personal account of the first 25 years of the pediatric orthopaedic societies in North America (1971-1996). The current members of the History & Archives Committee of POSNA have sought to expand on this historical account, with notable updates from the past 25 years (1996-2021). These highlights are certainly not comprehensive, but seek to touch on POSNA’s missional pillars of membership, education, research, patient care and advocacy.
